I dreamed about this a few weeks back...
I take a glance at my watch while i'm driving , 4:30..
The day is still bright, i recognized this roads, its Malaysia..
Feels like i haven't been back in decades but i still remember these roads like the back of my hand..
somethings never change..
Sitting next to me is a young boy, 17 maybe 18?
The radio is turn off.. silenced fills the car..
I then ask the boy..
"this is the last one , right?"
the boy took out note, he then goes through it..
then he replied; "yes, it is"
i looked at the back seat of the car...
two flowers... but i think, no i remember there was more than just two, there was way more than just two..
i reached my destination...
got out of the car, and light my cigarette..
looked around, it was a memorial park...
i ask the boy to give me the flowers...
and took the flowers and the note as well,
i walked, it was warm and humid but yet i am wearing a suit..
i stop, i look at the tombstone in front of me ,
i sigh and then i said..
"sorry , i had to see you two last , even though i look the same , i've changed, remember? i actually plan first before doing something, hard to believe right?"
i placed the two flowers down on the tombstone...
paused for a bit...
then i said..
" i really miss you two and everyone else, whats the point of living forever if everyone you once know , once cared about , once loved is dead..?
then i hear a voice..
"great uncle, its time to go, before the jams starts"
I looked at the tombstones and said...
"somethings never change... Farewell Ding, Cherish, i'll visit you two and everyone again when i have time... thats a promise... goodbye.."
i ashed the cigarette and walked back to the car...
before i enter the car... i took out the note from my pocket , i recognize every name on that piece of white paper...
family and friends...
everyone i once... no still care and love...
i paused for abit then i enter the car, start the engine with a press of a button...
my great nephew ask "All the names in your note, it's been so long, why do you still care about these...ghost of the past?"
and then i smiled and said to him...
" Damien, i'll never forget them, they might be gone but in my dearest memories, they'll live on, forever"
I take a look at my watch..
